Switching memory allocators at runtime is a great way to cause nasty
crashes! It's the bane of developers' lives on Windows, happening when
e.g. two different versions of MSVCRT are used. And it would not be
possible to call the API before Tcl allocates anything either, since
Tcl allocates during the library setup (i.e. Tcl_FindExecutable)
In short, Erk! No! |
