This picture shows Monika with our ersatz rocking horse Humphrey. My dad gave us the money for a proper rocking horse, but since babies aren't too good with them, we decided to start off with a rocking ladybug, and graduate up to rocking horse later. In this picture, Monika and Humphrey are comparing humps.

This is a picture of Carina still in the tummy. At the right is her head, facing up (nose and teeth are the light peaks), with the tummy in the middle and the knees showing up big on the left.

Here is Carina, just a couple minutes old. Right about here she is getting/has just gotten, her umbilical cord snipped.

Here is Carina on Monika's breast. Opening her eyes and getting a taste for this much bigger world.

Here Carina identifies the funny many with the big metal eye.

Soon after the birth, Carina is ready to fall asleep again on Monika's chest. That's my hand testing her grip (pretty darn good).

Here Monika is beginning to feel a little better, or at least happy, after the 24 hour ordeal.
